Even a cold, steady rain could not dampen the spirits of the Warsaw girls soccer team at the Plymouth Sectional Thursday evening. And although the field was wet and slippery in Warsaw’s 4-0 win over Argos, the girls made it hard to tell. More than 10 minutes ticked off the first quarter clock before the first shot on goal was made. At the 28:25 mark, Warsaw made its first of 11 total shots on goal. However, the second half was all Warsaw. The win put the girls in the sectional.

Joan Darr, R.N., assistant director of nursing at Kosciusko Community Hospital, has recently received her master of science degree in administration from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend. Mrs. Darr has been with KCH since the hospital opened in 1976 and has served in a variety of job responsibilities during her tenure with the health care facility.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Funk, of Warsaw, left today for a 10-day auto tour and fishing trip in the Ozark region. Mr. Funk’s Sunday feature radio show, “Symphonic Moods,” heard on WRSW AM-FM, will continue during his absence pre-transcribed.

Mrs. O.L. Sumner, Warsaw, has returned home after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sumner and family at Boulder, Colo. Jack is her grandson.

75 Years Ago

Miss Juanita Fawley and Mrs. Lloyd Fawley and children, Jack and Patty, who left one week ago for George West, Texas, arrived recently at their destination. They will visit interesting scenic and historic places in Texas before returning to Warsaw about Nov. 1. They have already driven 1,400 miles.
