The Ramada Plaza Hotel Women's Bridge Group met with seven tables playing. Winners were Gayle Gonser, Mary Gradle, Barbara Gigliotti, Leora Fuller, Mary Holtz, Joelyn Hepler and Mary Ringer.
Kevin Hileman, 13, Warsaw, recently found a puff-ball mushroom in the woods near Warsaw Church of God by Warsaw Middle School. Young Hileman poked at the puff first, thinking the nearly 16-inch circumference sphere was a skull. After he got over his amazement, Kevin and two buddies brought the mushroom to The Times-Union to show it off.
Bernard Fitzgerald, Mentone High School senior, and Dale Martin, Warsaw High School senior, are semi-finalists in National Merit Scholarship qualifying tests. They are two of 10,000 seniors throughout the country who have reached semi-final competition by outscoring 479,000 others.
