10 Years AgoWith people lined up in Owen's grocery store, Doris Panagoiotis, a registered nurse with St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, gave Gary Kinder, Warsaw, a flu shot today. The line began at 8 a.m. for the 10 a.m. inoculations. Beginning with 200 vaccines, they ran out by mid-morning, but expected another shipment from the medical center.25 Years AgoThe New Century Club of Pierceton held its October meeting at the home of Mrs. Harold Love in Warsaw. Eleven members and one guest, Mrs. Stella Phillips, attended.Phillips gave a talk on her button collection, which she said now fills an entire room in her home, and on which she has won many prizes at the state level. She brought several cards displaying samples of her collection and passed them around for inspection by the members.50 Years AgoThe October issue of Arabian Horse World has a former Warsaw girl, Patricia Minton, pictured on the cover with her Arabian mare, Tranatta. Pat is wearing a beautiful red Spanish gown with a white mantilla and a rose in her hair. The feature story reports she has won more than 55 parade trophies and 200 ribbons in such exhibitions as the Disneyland and Hollywood Christmas parades and the Las Vegas beauty pageant.75 Years AgoMrs. J.D. Lucas left recently for Fort Wayne, where she will reside during the coming winter. Lucas has resided at Winona Lake during the summer where she operated the Westminster Hotel.
