10 Years AgoAshley Wyatt, a junior at Warsaw Community High School and a pitcher for Warsaw's varsity softball team, will play for the Michiana Mystique 16-under softball team for the summer of 2001. Wyatt had to try out to make the team, which is based in South Bend. The Mystique will compete at top-level tournaments held in Cincinnati and Detroit and in the national tournament in either Pennsylvania or South Carolina.25 Years AgoYoder's Meat Market, located at the corner of Market and Lake Streets in downtown Warsaw, was closed last week and the store location was moved to 896 East Winona Avenue in Warsaw. The meat market is now reopened on the city's east side.50 Years AgoMrs. Raymond (Virginia) Zuck of Winona Lake, Times-Union women's editor, began a month's vacation. She and her husband plan to visit their son, David, in California.Mr. and Mrs. Dal Anglin, of Clunette and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Anglin of Warsaw, attended a Shriner's convention in Springfield, Ill., recently. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stine and son, Phillip stayed at the Dal Anglin home and took care of the children.75 Years AgoRuth Ellen Pifer was pleasantly surprised on her 10th birthday at her home in Warsaw by 10 little friends. A potluck supper was the main event of the evening, following which several contests were conducted. Patty Howe and Margaret Becraft were awarded the prizes for the contests. Joyce and June Melick gave a piano duet. One feature of the evening was the large, lighted birthday cake.
