10 Years AgoStudents at Warsaw Community High School can enjoy a touch of nature in the school's sculpture garden. According to Sara Robbins, chairwoman of the art department, the garden provides "a serene natural environment to quiet the noise with in."The high school's garden is in a courtyard outside the art rooms. It was designed and the ground was broken by members of the 1997 career art class.25 Years AgoSteve Hollar of Warsaw may have to soon make a difficult decision: stay at DePauw University for his freshman year or sit out a semester and perform in the movie "Hoosiers." Hollar, who graduated from Warsaw Community High School last spring, apparently is one of the final 10 candidates for six to eight basketball parts in the upcoming movie, which will star Gene Hackman.50 Years AgoMiss Karen Ann Freed, Silver Lake, has been selected as an honor girl for the 1961 State Fair girl's school. The honor goes to 13 girls in the state who will return for the 1961 school. Honor girls serve as group captains, and assist in the various training phases in the school. Miss Freed was a representative from the county at the 1960 state fair school.75 Years AgoThrough the courtesy of County Clerk Royce R. Hildenbrand, a free wedding license will be one of the prizes of the Kosciusko County Fair, a part of the award in connection with the model house recently completed by the Warsaw Trades and Building Association. Hildenbrand has agreed to issue, without charge, a marriage license and to provide an ordained minister to perform the marriage ceremony in the house to the favored individual provided that person can find a mate. The marriage license can be transferred.
