10 Years AgoStonehenge Ladies Afternoon Bridge met recently. Winners were: Peg Zimmerman, Kathleen Martin, Carolyn Condon and Dory Wright. Mixed couples bridge winners were: Bob Pfeiffer, Virginia Horn, Tony Frazzetta, Shirley Petro, John Wagley, John Clay, Dorothy Sawyer, George White, Mary Steele and Sally White.25 Years AgoThe Warsaw Community School Corp., in cooperation with Kosciusko Community Hospital, will be recognizing members of the school community right from birth thanks to the "Future Tiger Fan" T-shirt program, which began Sept. 1. The goal of this program is to identify new families within the school district and to provide potential parents (and students) with information about their public school system.50 Years AgoA photo on the front page of the Times-Union (Sept. 6) showed six of the 88 kindergarten boys and girls who had enrolled at Madison School in Warsaw. Those grouped around their teacher, Mrs. Winifred Philapy, at their first class were: John Doyle Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Doyle; John Lambert, son of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Lambert; and Darwin Heath, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Heath. Also, Susan Wuthrich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wuthrich; JoAnn Stauffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph N. Stauffer; and Julie Ann Leedy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Leedy.75 Years AgoMr. and Mrs. William Shaffer, of this city, left today for Elmore, Ala., to spend the winter months. They were accompanied by the former's mother and Carl Latta, also of Warsaw. The party motored through.Mrs. R.C. Smith left for Chicago, from which place she plans to go to Minneapolis, Minn., and on to Spokane, Wash. She will then go to Atwater, Calif., where she will make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Iden.
