10 Years Ago At least one of the groups touting Kosciusko County as an All-America City Awards in Atlanta, Ga., will be in costume. To represent one facet of Kosciusko County agriculture, Jeff Noffsinger is scheduled to appear in a chicken costume. Really warming up to his part, we understand he's been crowing around the Building and Planning Department in preparation for his feathery appearance. 25 Years Ago Lisa Federico was crowned Miss Silver Lake during Silver Lake Days this weekend. She received a check for $100 from Silver Lake Branch of Lake City Bank. Rhonda Surface, Miss Silver Lake 1985, attended the new queen. Tony Haireld was the first runnerup and received $50; Heather Bradford was second runnerup, receiving $25. 50 Years Ago Pat McClure, who will be a senior next fall at Warsaw High School, was elected superintendent of public instruction at Hoosier Boys' State, which he and 15 other Kosciusko County boys are attending at Bloomington. Pat, son of Mrs. Mary McClure, Warsaw, was elected on the national ticket. Nominees of both the Nationalist and Federalist parties had been chosen earlier in primary elections and party conventions, during the annual government workshop sponsored by the American Legion. 75 Years Ago James Heaton Jr., who has been holding a job in Oklahoma, has returned to Winona Lake for the summer. He was accompanied by his wife and family. Mr. Heaton will have charge of the tabernacle and auditorium for the season. Elizabeth Hines of this city is spending this week at Lake Geneva attending the Y.W.C.A. convention. Hines is a delegate from Northwestern University.
