10 Years AgoWarsaw's Gene Butts, a member of the Northern Indiana Officials Association, has been invited to umpire at the high school baseball state finals for the seventh time.Butts will umpire the Class A championship at Victory Field in Indianapolis. He also will work both of the Class A semifinals games at Carmel.25 Years AgoThe scholarship committee of the Kosciusko County Foundation has recently announced the Grace College recipients of a nursing scholarship for the 1985-86 school year. They are Rhonda Hanekamp, Kenny Dunn, David Seely, Brenda Riggs, Elizabeth Christner and Jennifer Bond.50 Years AgoBids were accepted on the erection of a new Lake City Bank building at the southeast corner of Center and Indiana Streets in downtown Warsaw. The new bank will be 60 by 100 feet. Plans are for a main entrance on Center Street with a second entrance on Indiana Street. The bank will have two drive-in windows, two night depositories, a 14 or 15 auto parking lot. The structure is expected to be ready for occupancy by March, 1, 1961.75 Years AgoStuart VanDyke, son of Mr. and Mrs. I.C. VanDyke, of Winona Lake, and Robert Ashby, of Ladoga, Ind., left recently on an extended trip to Europe. They plan to spend the summer in Europe visiting places of interest in all parts of the British Isles. Mr. VanDyke recently graduated from Indiana University and will enroll in Chicago University on his return in the fall.
