Ronnie Shoemaker, a sixth-grader at Lincoln Elementary School in Warsaw, has an autographed photo of President George W. Bush he received recently. Seems the youngster wrote a letter expressing an interest in politics and support for Bush's policies. A short time later, along came an autographed picture. Ronnie's reaction? "Wow! Pretty super!" He is the son of Ron Shoemaker, Warsaw.

Warsaw Community School Board members went from one side of the state to the other to find Warsaw High School's new girls basketball coach. Will Wienhorst Jr., a veteran girls basketball coach at South Newton High school in Kentland, was approved as the Tigers' third girls basketball coach in school history Monday night.
Wienhorst will be a business, health teacher at Warsaw Community High School, in addition to his coaching duties.

Members of Alpha Beta chapter, of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Warsaw, have chosen Karen Freed, of Silver Lake, as the recipient of their $1,000 scholarship. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Freed, she plans to major in music at Manchester College. Karen was Miss Silver Lake last August in the County Fair Queen contest sponsored by the sorority chapter.

Mrs. Charles Walker left recently for an extended trip through the west. She will visit relatives in Minot, N.D., and Spokane, Wash. From there she will continue on to the coast where she will spend several weeks.
Mrs. J.W. Scott left recently for Kansas City, Mo., to spend the next 10 weeks with her daughter, Mrs. D.H. Liner, and family. Together they will go to El Vado, a summer resort in the mountains near Boulder, Colo., where they will spend one month.
