10 Years AgoMobile Meals have been provided since 1974. "It's a real nice thing to have available," says Mary Hani of Warsaw. Hani receives her daily meal from volunteer and Warsaw resident Jane Eherenman. Eherenman has delivered Mobile Meals for 10 years. She is a board member and former employee of the Kosciusko Community Senior Services."This is more than just delivering a meal. It's the personal contact I have with our clients," Eherenman said. "The people we serve look forward to us coming and it gives them reassurance."25 Years AgoThis recipe was submitted in the Spotlight Recipe Contest: Zippy Texas Squash. 2 lbs. zucchini squash, cut into 1/4" slices; 1 medium onion, chopped; 2 tbsp. water; 1-8 ounce ctn. sour cream; 1-4 ounce can green chili peppers, drained; 1-2 ounce jar pimiento, drained and chopped; 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese; 1-1/2 cups cheese-flavored tortilla chips, crushed; Paprika. Cook squash, onion and water until tender. Drain. Stir together sour cream, chili peppers and pimiento. Fold in cheese. In a 12x7-1/2x2 baking dish, layer half of squash mixture, half cheese mixture, then half of the chips. Repeat layers once more. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until heated through. Garnish with zucchini slices and sour cream. Makes 8 servings. Donna L. Zink, Warsaw50 Years AgoLinda Smoker, Warsaw, was one of 17 Indiana girls and boys who received achievement awards for 4-H Club work at the 42nd annual Roundup at Purdue University recently.The winners will receive trips to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago Nov. 27 to Dec 2, or their records will be entered in nationwide competition.75 Years AgoMr. and Mrs. Paul Grimm and daughter Ruth attended members of the graduating class of Purdue University at Lafayette. Miss Grimm remained in Lafayette to attend commencement exercises on Tuesday. Mrs. Robert Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grimm, is among members of the graduating class.
