10 Years AgoStonehenge Ladies Afternoon Bridge winners were: Jane Smith, Peg Zimmerman, Sue McGuire, Barb Eastland and Mary Clemons.Mixed couples bridge winners were: George White, Dory Wright, Nancy Anderson, Kathleen Martin, Elim Smith, Karyl Smith, Jim Loser, Sally White and Janet Wagley.25 Years AgoThe sixth-graders of Jefferson School recently planned and enjoyed the 14th annual International Luncheon. The theme of this year's festive occasion was "What in the World Do We Eat!" Room decorations included maps, banners, calendars, posters and globes. Placemats, program covers and name tags carried the theme motif designed by students. Guests and sixth-grade students enjoyed 46 different dishes from all over the world. Students servers dressed in costumes of foreign countries.50 Years AgoMrs. Floyd Stackhouse and her grandson, Mike Zentz, both of Etna Green, have been studying about meteorites. The reason? They have found a very large piece of one weighing approximately 75 pounds. Several smaller pieces were also found, one of which weighs in at about 17 pounds. Mike, a fourth-grader at Bourbon, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Zentz, Etna Green.75 Years AgoPlans have been completed for the big picnic to be held Sunday at Myrtle Glen Park, Silver Lake, to nearly 3,000 sportsmen who will be guests of the 23 conservation clubs of Kosciusko County.State officials expected to attend are: Virgil M. Simmons, commissioner of conservation; Kenneth M. Kunkle, director of fish and game; Milt Wysong and C.R. Guthermuth, directors for conservation. Sporting events in which prizes are offered will be among the features of entertainment.
