Warsaw’s boys golf team sealed its fourth consecutive Northern Lakes Conference title and seventh in eight years with its second-place finish at Saturday’s NLC Tournament in Plymouth. Team members are Matt Osbeck, Aaron Turner, David Slater, Greg Clay, Adam Johnson and coach Bob Turner. Warsaw won the NLC title by combining the second-place tournament score (314) with its 5-1 NLC round-robin record.

A city-county plan to rezone 1,500 acres along U.S. 30 from mostly agricultural to light industrial, contingent on the approval of the Kosciusko County commissioners, was announced by city officials recently. If approved, the tract of mostly undeveloped agriculturally zoned property northwest of the U.S. 30 and Ind. 15 interchange would be the largest single light industrial rezoning in county history.

Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Kaye-Smith, Winona Lake, leave for Europe Friday. They’ll fly from Detroit to London and Amsterdam, then begin a motor tour of several countries including Jugoslavia. After that, Mrs. Kaye-Smith will enroll in the University of Madrid for advanced study in Spanish, the language she teaches at Pierceton High School.

Stanley H. Boggs, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. S.S. Boggs of near Mentone, last night received his master’s degree cum laude in anthropology and archaeology at the University of Arizona. He has been pursuing advanced studies since his graduation last year at Northwestern University. He is a graduate of Warsaw High School and undoubtedly the youngest to receive the master’s degree in archaeology in the entire country. He will continue to study this summer in physical anthropology field work in Arizona, and this fall will enter Harvard University for further study.
