10 Years AgoThe Warsaw Dancin' Grannies and Grandpa will be performing at a Fort Wayne Wizards game as pre-game entertainment during the seventh-inning stretch and after the game June 7. Dancin' Grannies and Grandpa include: Rosemary Parsons, Bob Brilliant and Gloria Schmid. Also, Mary Shirey, Phyliss Osborn, Barb Brilliant, Ora Conlon, Betty Kruger and Lolabell Sloan.25 Years AgoThree major benefactors of Grace College were recognized at the 1985 President's Club Appreciation Banquet held recently at the local college. Special guests at the meeting were: Sen. Dan Quayle, Blaine Mikesell, Lawrence Castaldi, Mrs. Blaine Mikesell, Mrs. Deborah Cooley, Mrs. Louise Creighton and her husband, Eddie, former Gov. Otis Bowen and Dr. Homer Kent, president of Grace School. Mrs. Cooley, of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Warsaw, was one of the major benefactors honored.50 Years AgoClaypool's first kindergarten class consisted of 14 graduates. They are: Randy Bloom, Roger Cauffman, Donnie Driver, Rodney Metzger, LaDonna Yant, Steven Holt, David Conley. Also, Richard Sparrow, Roger Hudson, Larry Gibson, Scott Lukens, Penny Barnhart, Darle Meinert, Jean Starner. Mrs. Sherwood Drukee is the kindergarten teacher. Officers for the Kindergarten Association are: Mrs. Dennie Conley, vice president; Mrs. Richard Sparrow, secretary; Mrs. Wendell Brown, treasurer, and Mrs. John Kirkwood, assistant treasurer. Mrs. Brown was elected president for next year.75 Years AgoSunday morning the Epworth League of the First Methodist Church, entertained the members of the league who are graduating from Warsaw High School with the 1935 class. There were 12 seniors present. A delicious breakfast, consisting of pineapple and strawberry cup, pancakes and sausage, and coffee was served at the church. Two honored guests Earl Ketrow and Virginia Mellencamp, gave talks on "What I Got Out of High School That Meant the Most."
