10 Years AgoA "Prom Docu-Drama" was conducted at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. Students from Warsaw, Wawasee and Tippecanoe Valley High Schools were bused to the grandstand at the fairgrounds where a mock accident scene was staged. The event lasted approximately an hour. The accident was caused by a drunk driver on prom night. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the danger of drunk driving among prom-aged students. The event is conducted once every two years and is sponsored by Emergency Medical Service crews from Warsaw, Pierceton, North Webster, Syracuse and Plain Township.25 Years AgoThis recipe was contributed by Paula Ibach, Winona Lake and was published in the Spotlight. Golden Corn Casserole: 1/2 lb. Velveeta, cubed; 1/2 cup milk; 1-12 oz. can whole kernel corn, drained; 2 eggs, slightly beaten; 1/4 cup chopped green pepper; 1/2 tsp. basil; 1/8 tsp. pepper.Heat Velveeta and milk over low heat; stir until smooth. Combine sauce and remaining ingredients. Pour into 10x6 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until set. 8 servings.50 Years AgoMr. and Mrs. George Fisher, of near Leesburg, were in Bloomington recently to attend Founders' Day ceremonies at Indiana University. Their son and daughter, Duke and Becky, were among the students honored for distinguishment in scholarship during the first and second semesters.75 Years AgoOfficers and members of the executive committee of the National Twins Association meeting in Warsaw decided to hold the 1935 annual convention in Warsaw at the city park on Sunday, Aug. 25. The officers voted to invite the Dionne quintuplets to be the guests of honor. Not only are the Canadian babies to be asked, but twins are expected to attend as far west as Kansas and as far east as New York.
