Juergen Voss, owner of Open Air Garden Center, adopted ‘Ducky’ last July after its mother was killed on the road. Ducky was about three days old. Voss kept the little duck in his garage at nights and in the backyard during the summer, where it liked to play in the pool. The duck learned to fly, but refused to leave. Now Voss keeps the duck at the garden center on Road 30W. The duck follows Voss wherever he goes. Ducky, has a penchant for untying the shoelaces of garden center customers. The only other problem Voss has encountered so far is Ducky’s taste for the tender, juicy roots of pond plants at the garden center - at $20 per plant.
