10 Years Ago In naming 41-year-old Doug West as its volleyball coach, Warsaw went with someone who has never coached a high school team but has coached at the Division I college level. Warsaw hired West recently as head varsity volleyball coach. West served as Indiana University’s head women’s volleyball coach from 1983-1986. He got the job at the age of 23. West then served as a volunteer assistant at the University of Nebraska from 1993-1996. From there West entered the Christian ministry and eventually moved his family to Warsaw in 1999, to serve as director of the chaplain ministry at Kosciusko Community Hospital. He always hoped he could use his volleyball experience. 25 Years Ago The Warsaw Community High School auditorium will be turned into a comical war zone when the school drama department presents the play, “MASH.” A cast of almost 50 students -- including several junior high school students are included in the performance.
