10 Years AgoNancy Zellner may just be the busiest person at Warsaw Community High School. Nancy Zellner, R.N., is the head nurse in the WCHS's system and it is her job to make sure approximately 6,300 students are healthy enough to learn every day. That's no easy task for "Nurse Nancy" (as she's affectionately called) and her four-nurse staff administering health and first aid services to 31,564 WCS students. That's an average of 175 kids a day. Add that to the 44,042 medications the staff dispenses, a daily average of 245, and you begin to realize the immensity of a school nurse's responsibilities.25 Years AgoThe Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, which is about to be launched in Kosciusko County, received a big boost last week. Officials of the two local Pizza Hut restaurants agreed to help in a fundraising campaign. This according to Deb Heeter, director of the Job Training Partnership Act office in Kosciusko County, who has been instrumental in organizing the program. Also instrumental in helping to organize the program locally is Ray Monteith, a Warsaw businessman.50 Years AgoEdward Gatke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Gatke, and Richard Kriegbaum, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Arnold Kriegbaum, of Winona Lake, will be coming home from Wheaton College for spring vacation. They are also planning to participate in the Wabash Relays at Wabash College, Crawfordsville.
