10 Years AgoThe Wednesday Afternoon Ladies Bridge winners were: Carolyn Condon, Maxine Harris and Helen Miller. Couples Bridge winners were: Elim Smith, Barb Tidmore, Ken Stringer, Peg Zimmerman, Kathleen Martin, Ivan Overline and Nancy McNoldy.The Bistro 'A Lago Women's Bridge group met recently with five tables playing. Winners were: Leora Fuller, A.J. Plummer, Mary Ruth Hinshaw, Rosalee Spear and JoAnn Mosbaugh.25 Years AgoIvy White has taken an innocent smile, years of practice and plenty of encouragement from local supporters and watched her acting talents blossom into a career. Recently, she watched in anticipation of being chosen as part of an Oscar award-winning film. White, a 1966 graduate of Warsaw High School, plays a leading role in the short film, "Graffiti," which was nominated for an Oscar in the live action short category. Although the movie didn't capture the prestigious award, White believes the nomination alone is an affirmation of her career plans.50 Years AgoThe program for community-wide Easter Sunrise services Sunday morning, conducted by the Warsaw and Winona Lake Ministerial Association, will feature a message by Dr. A. Blair Helman, president of Manchester College. The service this year will be held at the Winona Lake Auditorium. Dr. Helman's message will be "The Historical Christ--A Present Reality."75 Years AgoBram Baker, native Warsawan and founder of the Baker Boys' Club of Warsaw, accompanied by members of his family, stopped off in Warsaw recently for a few hours to visit friends, while en route from California to Boston. Mrs. Blanch McKelvey and Miss Ethel Baker, of South Bend, sisters of Mr. Baker, also visited with him in Warsaw.
