10 Years AgoThanks to a generous gift from the George and Priscilla Bowser family, Kosciusko County Foundation has a new home. The family donated The Fox Vog building to the Foundation. The building is on the corner of Market and Buffalo Streets. After the building is renovated the foundation hopes to move in by August.25 Years AgoYoung Rhee, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Chang Rhee and member of the Warsaw Community High School band, has been selected as a member of the 1985 Indiana Bandmasters Association All-State "Honors" Band. Students were selected for the "Honors" and All-State Bands from more than 800 students who auditioned in seven centers all over the state.50 Years AgoThanks to the kindness and ability of Warsaw Fireman Allen Hartman, "Lassie", a young collie, is alive today. After receiving artificial respiration from Hartman, the K-9 dog was taken to the home of Cleon Marsh to recuperate and receive attention from Dr. Robert Conrad, local veterinarian. "Lassie" was the only living animal or bird to escape the smoke-filled Melvin Schue home in Warsaw. Twenty Chinchillas, three American Terrier pups, a canary and parakeet perished in the dense smoke.75 Years AgoThe Evening Dramatic group of the Fine Arts Club met with Mrs. Marie Stokes. Seventeen members and one guest, Mrs. Godfrey, were present. The program consisted of " Exercises on Gesture" by Miss Carolyn Kozak. Miss Helen Kyle gave a report on "Studying of Play and Stake Terminology." Mrs. F.D. Mow gave two musical readings, "Counting Daisy Petals" and " Speak Up, Ike." A playlet titled "Sock and Soap Suds" was given by Mrs. J.C. Jonas and Mrs. Leah Polk.
