10 Years AgoAshley Wireman, of Edgewood Middle School, claimed the winner's title Tuesday, the second night of the Kosciusko County spelling bee, for the second year in a row, spelling "ludicrous" and "imperceptible" correctly. Wireman, 14, is the daughter of Sandra and Greg Wireman.Brent Danner, of Wawasee Middle School, was the runnerup. Danner, 12, son of Nancy and Tom Danner, lasted seven rounds, missing "ludicrous" in the eighth.25 Years AgoBrig. Raymond G. Cameron, a retired Salvation Army officer who resides at Winona Lake, is about to take his popular "Chalk Talk" religious program on the road for a five-state swing. Cameron draws scenic pictures while delivering sermons at revival services in churches throughout the country.50 Years AgoMiss Becky Ann Fisher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher, Leesburg, has been pledged to Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at Indiana University, Bloomington. Another I.U. freshman from this area, Miss Linda Young, of Milford, is a Zeta Tau Alpha pledge.75 Years AgoWith the exception of three members who were unavoidably absent, the entire membership of the Kiwanis Club heard Mayor C.C. DuBois, the speaker, at the recently held luncheon. He gave a comprehensive resume of the improvements in buildings, pavements and sewers, that have been made in Warsaw in the last several years and estimated their cost at a total of $1,250,000. Charles Butler favored the club with three solos, "King for a Day," "Desert Song" and "Lover, Come Back to Me."
