10 Years AgoTwo area educators were named recipients of the top individual awards at the annual Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce banquet.Dr. Karen Boling, Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. superintendent, was named Woman of the Year; and Dr. Steve Grill, Grace College dean of community education, was named Man of the Year.25 Years AgoLeslie A. Kralis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kralis, Warsaw, has placed first in the Breakfast Optimist Club essay competition, according to Steve Wilson, club president. Leslie is a sophomore at Warsaw Community High School.50 Years AgoHere is a recipe for Chocolate Crunch Sauce from the Women's Exchange column: Place 2-1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, grated, and 1/2 cup milk in a pan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted. Add 3/4 cup brown sugar and cook 5 minutes longer, stirring frequently. Cool, add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 cup crunch style peanut butter. Mix thoroughly. Serve over ice cream and top with chopped peanuts.75 Years AgoA new FERA project for Warsaw has been approved by Fred A. Hendrick, county case work director upon the request of the board of public works, and the board of cemetery regents, Frank R. Lucas, street commissioner.The drive around the Oakwood Cemetery from Maple Avenue to the Pike Lake bathing beach is to be abandoned. In past years bathers going to the lake have interrupted funerals.
