10 Years AgoThe Remembrance Park project in Etna green received a $40,000 boost from Build Indiana funds recently, putting the project within reach of getting underway. Kosciusko Leadership Academy members Becky Baker and Marlene Hoffer, along with park committee members, have worked to spruce up an area in downtown Etna Green, where Ind. 19 turns north, since 1996.25 Years AgoGrace Schools recently received a donation of $500,000 - the largest single gift in the school's history - from the widow of a Warsaw businessman.Mrs. Deborah Cooley, whose husband moved the Da-Lite Screen Co. to Warsaw in 1956, is donating the money to allow the school to retire its remaining debt on the science building. The gift will be made in five annual payments of $100,000.50 Years AgoMr. and Mrs. John Hedington, lifelong residents of the Pierceton community, observed their 55th wedding anniversary Christmas Day at a family party. They have three sons, Noel, Sylvester and Noble, who live in this area, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.75 Years AgoApproximately 235 members of the Eagles Lodge enjoyed a membership dinner recently at the Eagles hall. Following the dinner, the regular lodge business meeting was conducted. A musical program was presented, and 13 new candidates were taken into the lodge. The state president, Arthur Follis, Wabash, was present.
