10 Years AgoOne Powerball ticket sold at Wilby's Gas and Goodies, West Lake street, Warsaw, is the winner of $100,000 in a recent drawing, according to Hoosier Lottery officials. No names were released by the state.25 Years AgoRetired Warsaw Freshman High School Principal Lester D. Davis and local Red Cross volunteer Alice H. Shaffer were named the 1984 Warsaw "Man and Woman of the Year". Davis and Shaffer received plaques as the 26th recipients of the annual honor. The awards were presented at the 73rd annual Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce banquet in the Shrine Building.The prestigious community awards were presented by The Times-Union and Radio Stations WRSW AM-FM in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce.50 Years AgoMiss Carole Crooke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Crooke, Bourbon, has been awarded the American Homemaker of Tomorrow award for her high school and is eligible to compete in the state contest.
