Sharron Duncan placed first among 200 contestants in dramatic interpretation. Pauline Elliott was third in that event and Sandi Adkinson was fourth in original oratory, which attracted 91 contestants. The tourney is one of the largest high school speech festivals in the United States. Sixty-four schools and approximately 1,200 speech students participated. There were 18 Warsaw entries.75 Years AgoThe Farmers Institute of Seward township met at Burket recently for a two-day session in the Burket community building. Two important addresses were given in the afternoon. "The Parents' Part in 4-H Club Work" was the subject of an address by N.H. Hadley. Mrs. W.I. Ellison spoke on "Keeping Pace with the Times." The Burket High School pupils took part in a play for the evening entertainment.
