On Friday the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Kosciusko County will officially get underway as event volunteers and participants gather. They will launch launch their fundraising efforts for the year with a kickoff rally at Warsaw City Hall, 102 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Although the Relay For Life of Kosciusko County is more than three months away, now is the time to get involved, says the organization. Attendees at the rally can receive some information, refreshments and giveaways. Relay For Life participants and visitors have a chance to celebrate the victory of local cancer survivors during the survivors lap; remember those who are fighting cancer or those who have lost their battle to the disease during the Luminaria Ceremony; and participate in the Fight Back Ceremony, which gives everyone a chance to proclaim his or her own way of taking action against the disease. Donations can be made to the local Relay For Life event by visiting RelayForLife.org. Community members also can start or join a team by following the links to their local Relay event. The Relay For Life of Kosciusko County will take place from 12 p.m. May 21 to 12 a.m. May 22 at Central Park in Warsaw.
