The 2016 Relay For Life is May 21 in Central Park. This year’s theme is “Paint Our Town Purple.” The event is from noon to midnight. Registration and site set-up begin at 9 a.m. There are currently 17 teams registered and the fundraising goal is $35,000, according to Aimee Kintzel, relay chair. There were 15 teams who participated last year and $33,000 was raised for American Cancer Society. Opening ceremony will be from noon to 1 p.m. with a cancer survivors, caregiver, sponsor and parade of teams laps. A survivor dinner will immediately follow the ceremony. Activities will include: Lutheran Health Network helicopter, 1 to 2 p.m.; Lake city Roller Dolls Demonstration, 2 to 3 p.m.; Class Act Dance Troop, 3 to 4 p.m.; pizza eating contest, 4 to 5 p.m.; fitness triathlon with a partner, 5 to 6 p.m. Other activities include a dog demonstration, 6 to 7 p.m.; karate demonstration, 7 to 8 p.m.; fight back ceremony, 8 to 9 p.m.; and ring toss from 9 to 10 p.m. A luminary ceremony will be from 10 to 11 p.m.; lap poker from 11 to 11:30 p.m.; and closing ceremony at midnight.
