AKRON - Reginald "Reggie" M. Shaffer, 60, of Noblesville, formerly of Akron, died March 12, 2009, at 9:03 a.m. at his residence.
He was born Dec. 27, 1948, in Wabash County, to Roscoe "Jim" and Gertrude M. Gonder Shaffer. On Dec. 21, 1968, in Wabash, he married Sandra K. Campbell, who died Sept. 9, 2002.
He was a factory worker at several area factories, retiring from Sonoco Products of Akron. He lived in Akron about 30 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer J. (and spouse Daniel) Smith, Monterey; a son, Christian M. Shaffer, Akron; four grandchildren: Kacie and Evan Smith and Brodie and Hannah Shaffer; father, Roscoe "Jim" Shaffer, Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, Ronald M. Shaffer, Noblesville; and a sister, Pamela J. Smith, Noblesville.
He also was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Shaffer, and a daughter, Anita Shaffer.
A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, with Father Glenn Kohrman officiating.
Calling is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron.
