CLAYPOOL – Claypool is planning Second Saturdays downtown this summer. Dave and Connie Morgan presented information on the event during Monday night’s Claypool Town Council meeting. The events will be June 8, July 13, and August 10, with a year-end cap-off in October. There will be karaoke from 7 to 10 p.m., a kettle corn vendor starting at noon, craft tables from a member of United Methodist Church, and Our Father’s House will set up a table. Proposals for possible events and features include wood crafts, fabric crafts and fishing flies tables, as well as a cash depot raffle. Crazy Joe’s may donate fireworks, and Hanks Tattoo may offer food, bands and a sponsored bike ride. Suggested events are a chili cook off, a petting zoo and the Hobby Store offering racing at the basketball area. Games planned include a frozen T-shirt game, cake wheel and corn toss. Connie Morgan told council she would like to see the town take the event over next year if it goes well.
