Redistricting

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

I haven't seen any letters regarding the redistricting issue yet, so perhaps I'll be the one opening the requisite can of worms.

I am the parent of students in the Washington district which will be drastically affected by the redistricting scenarios currently out there. In both orange and black, 56.3 percent of the Washington students will have their school changed. Many of those will be shipped almost 10 miles away out to the Claypool school.

Ironically, Washington, which has the largest percentage of change scheduled, is nearly last in the list of school meetings. So, less of our parents are aware of the issue and will have much less time to act upon the problem by having their say. So, if you are a Washington parent, please contact your Principal Mr. Ray, Board Secretary Kay Kelly at kkelly@warsaw.k12.in.us, or the e-mail welisten@warsaw.k12.in.us

This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it which is listed on the Warsaw School's site to request an attachment of those illusive redistricting maps which are not posted anyone online (hmm?) because you have more than a 50-50 chance of being at a different school next year.
