Recording artist and music legend Leon Redbone will perform a concert in Warsaw to benefit Serenity House.
Serenity House is a recovery home for residents who are recovering from alcohol and drug abuse.
The Warsaw concert will be Oct. 13 at Lakeview Middle School.
Tickets are $35 for general admission, and doors to the concert open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at Angelina's Cigars in Warsaw and Plymouth, and at Wooden Nickel Music, Fort Wayne.
Sponsors for the Warsaw performance include Ace Hardware, Angelina's Cigars, Kosciusko REMC, Deb & Greg Knepp, R.W. Kidd Construction, Lake City Bank, Warsaw Cut Glass, WVPE 88.1 FM and Zimmer Corp.
Redbone also will perform at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. to benefit Auburn's Serenity House. Tickets are $35 for general admission, and doors will open at 6 p.m. The ticket cost includes museum admission. Redbone is best known for his performances on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson."He was featured in the movie "Elf" as a snowman, and his duet with Zooey Deschanel on the standard "Baby, It's Cold Outside" was the movie's theme song.
His voice has been heard on the "This Bud's for you" jingle, and he was a topic of a Far Side cartoon.
His music has focused on performing songs from the past, and he has been performing for more than 30 years, with 15 albums in release.
His career first gained momentum in the early '70s when Bob Dylan sought him out. Redbone is recognized by his fellow musicians as a master of the acoustic guitar.
"These benefit concerts will allow fans to see Leon Redbone in a very small and comfortable environment," said Matt Rice, Serenity House executive director.
Rice said the funds will allow Serenity House to continue its important work in helping men and women recover from alcohol and drug addictions.
