Red Cross Asking For Blood Donations

Posted
Red Cross Asking For Blood DonationsThe American Red Cross has issued a plea for blood donations.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, blood supplies are dwindling, as those who normally donate are staying home to avoid contacting the virus, according to a news release. “It is so important that we replenish these blood supplies, as the need will not diminish,” the release states. Even if you have never donated blood in the past, this is an opportunity to help others, and it takes less than an hour.

There are four blood drives scheduled in Kosciusko County through April. Dates, times and locations are listed below. Be assured that the bloodmobile staff is well-trained in sanitizing all of the areas of the sites and will take all precautions to make sure that you have a safe donation.

Locations in Kosciusko County:

• March 27, Walmart, 2501 Walton Blvd., Warsaw, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This was moved from Warsaw Meadows.

• April 8, Mad Anthony Brewing Company, 113 E. Center St., Warsaw, 1:30 to 6 p.m.

• April 11, YMCA, 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• April 14, Center Lake Pavilion, 117 E. Canal St., Warsaw, noon to 6 p.m. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will not be a canteen at the Pavilion.

“From your American Red Cross, we thank all those who have donated in the past and ask that you all come in if you are eligible to donate. The need is great and continuing. To anyone looking for a way to help your fellow citizens, please consider giving an hour of your time and a unit of your blood, so that others may live,” the release states.
