Recycling Calendars Expected In 2 Weeks

Posted

Printing of the magnetic curbside recycling calendars has been delayed and the calendars are expected to arrive in two weeks or less, according to Warsaw Public Works Superintendent Lacy Francis Jr. The calendars and information about the recycling service will be delivered to eligible residents.

This year, the contract with Waste Management calls for recycled materials to be picked up every other week on the same day as trash is collected. In January, the weeks of the 10th and the 24th are recycling pickup weeks.

The city provides large bins for recycled materials.

Following is a list of what can be recycled: Paper - magazines, newspapers, "slick" advertisements, junk mail, small cardboard boxes, cereal boxes, office paper, catalogs, phone books, grocery bags and large boxes. Glass - clear, brown or green food container jars and bottles; remove lids and wash glass. Plastic labeled as No. 1 and No. 2. The figures are in the recycling triangle on the bottom of containers.

Also, two-liter soft drink bottles, milk jugs, soap and hair care containers. Remove lids and wash. Metals such as aluminum and metal beverage cans, steel food containers and empty aerosol cans. All labels may remain on the containers.
