Recovery 1st is putting on a 5K run and walk in Warsaw to raise awareness about recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
The vision of Recovery 1st is that society seeks addiction treatment and recovery as a heroic and positive effort.
The run and walk is Sept. 3 at Center Lake Pavilion, Warsaw.
Entertainment is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Food vendors will be available, or participants can bring their own lunch.
The event includes recovery speakers, work shops, live music, games for children, euchre and corn hole tournaments.
The run and walk registration is from 7:30 to 8:37 a.m.
The cost of pre-registration is $15, and race day registration is $20. The run and walk begins at 9 a.m. T-shirts are guaranteed to pre-registries only.
Proceeds from the run and walk benefit a scholarship fund for men and women to enter a Kosciusko County-based recovery home.
