WINCHESTER – Raymond A. Arnett, 91, Winchester, and formerly of Lynn and Spartanburg, passed away Jan. 21, 2015, in I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. He was born March 30, 1923, in Darke County, Ohio, to Ralph D. and Alma Eck Arnett. He was married to his wife of 69 years, Anna Lou Peacock Arnett, who survives in Winchester. He was a graduate of Union City, Ohio, East Side High School. He served honorably in the Army Air Corp. during World War II. He was a foreman at Anchor Hocking, Winchester, for 24 years prior to becoming a plant manager for Kabert Industries, Lynn, for over 20 years. He was also a lifelong farmer in the Spartanburg area. He was a member of the Winchester Friends Church, and had been active in the Spartanburg Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts during their existence in the ’50s and ’60s. He enjoyed working, fishing and farming. He loved spending time with his family. Also surviving are four children: Dr. Marjorie Arnett, Redlands, Calif.; Peggy Arnett, Syracuse; Dale (and spouse Joy) Arnett, Spartanburg; and John Arnett, Circle Pines, Minn.; five grandchildren: Joy K. Arnett, Richmond; Abbi Lough, Losantville; Clay Arnett, Circle Pines, Minn.; Brandon Arnett, Richmond; and Calyssa Arnett, Syracuse; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Bessie Eck Arnett; a brother, Floyd Arnett; and a foster brother, Phillip Stilts. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Winchester Friends Church with Pastor Ron Ferguson officiating. Burial is in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester with military rites conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
