NORTH MANCHESTER - Ray A. Kline, 83, of Laketon, died at 4:30 p.m. April 12, 2008, in Charlotte County Medical Center, Punta Gorda, Fla.
He was born March 14, 1925, in Wabash County, to Ray L. and Opal F. Simpson Kline. On Sept. 2, 1945, he married Bertha B. Betten, who died Aug. 13, 1998.
He was a farmer and was self-employed in construction. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran.
Surviving are three sons, Allen (and spouse Marea) Kline, Laketon, and Roger (and spouse Patty) Kline and Steven (and spouse Sandy) Kline, both of North Manchester; four daughters: Sandra (and spouse Randy) Buss, Laketon; Susan (and spouse William) Fisher, Munford, Tenn.; Sara (and spouse Rick) Greer, Akron; and Sally (and spouse Mark) Dyson, Roann; his companion, Katie Ihnen; five brothers: Henry "Hank" (and spouse Ruth) Kline, Brooksville, Fla.; Ben (and spouse Priscilla) Kline, Andrews: Ken (and spouse Ethel Mae) Kline, Milton, Ky.; Paul (and spouse Ruth) Kline, Roann; and Ed (and spouse Louise) Kline, North Manchester; six sisters: Ruby Utter, Peru; Violet Kline, Fort Wayne; Dorothy (and spouse Wayne) Leighen, Madison, Va.; Mary (and spouse Glen) Blow and Martha (and spouse Bob) Kranzman, both of North Bangor, N.Y.; and Pearl (and spouse Jerry) Davis, Russellville, Ark.; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers, two sisters, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
