A Warsaw man accused of rape was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Wednesday afternoon after being detained in Ohio on a local warrant.
Nicholas John Himes, 21, of 744 W. Market St., Warsaw, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, rape with deadly force, criminal deviant conduct and criminal confinement. He is being held on $115,000 bond.
Himes allegedly raped an 18-year-old female while holding a handgun and threatened to kill her and himself if she told anyone.
The incident allegedly occurred Sept. 30 and was reported to police that night. Himes allegedly admitted having sex with the teen-ager while he "had his hands on a .22-caliber firearm."
Police said Himes went to Ohio shortly after the incident was reported and knew charges would be filed. The criminal case was filed Oct. 7 in Kosciusko Superior Court I.
