Despite early rain showers that rolled through Warsaw Monday morning, crowds were still strong at the 95th Kosciusko County Fair for opening day.
Carnival rides opened for the first time in the evening as children and parents packed the midway.
Several pageants were held Monday evening in the activity tent and the turnout was high.
For the Little Miss and Mister Pageant alone, 33 kids competed with 11 boys and 22 girls vying for the crowns.

In the grandstand, the Akron Go-Karts entertained crowds.
Tonight is the Kokomo Quarter Midgets in the grandstand, and in the activity tent is the youth talent contest.
Wednesday sees the first of two big concerts at this year’s county fair.
Country artist Kellie Pickler takes the stage in the grandstand Wednesday night.
Her show starts at 8 p.m.
According to fair officials, ticket sales are brisk for the show.
Reserved trackside seats are $20, and general admission is $10.
Wednesday is Community Day as attendees are asked to visit the not-for-profit booths along the midway.
Wednesday is also senior day with seniors 65 and older getting in for $1.
Louis Dreyfus Day is also Wednesday.
