NORTH MANCHESTER - R. Kenneth Graybill Sr., 91, of Timbercrest Retirement Community, North Manchester, died at 1:20 p.m. June 15, 2009, in Lutheran Heart Center, Fort Wayne, of complications from heart surgery on June 8.

He was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Delphi, to John H. and Edit Mae Edwards Graybill. On Sept. 14, 1936, he married Addie A. Huffman, who died April 9, 2008.

He was a semi-truck driver, a quality control inspector and a sales representative. He was an Indiana State Guard veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of Liberty Mills Methodist Church. In 1940, he helped build Deeds Carrilon Park, Dayton, Ohio; was former board vice-president of the American Society for Quality Control, Fort Wayne chapter; and was former Wabash County Cancer Society vice-president, treasurer, publicity director and patient councilor. He volunteered many hours with retirement communities and disabilities resources. As a cancer survivor, he was involved with Relay for Life.

Surviving are a special friend, Beverly Kidd, Laketon; three sons: Kenny Jr. (and spouse Susan) Liberty Mills; Riley (and spouse Pat), Eustis, Fla.; and Everett, Osteen, Fla.; four daughters: Kay (and spouse Harold) Eller and Beth (and spouse Herb) Anderson, all of North Manchester; Eileen Cook, Eldorado, Ohio; and Cheri Cook (and spouse Philip King), Lufkin, Texas; a brother, William D. Graybill, Sherwood, Ariz.; a sister, Ruth Kufeldt, Constatine, Mich.; 33 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and a great-grandson.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Timbercrest Chapel, with Greg Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Roann Cemetery.
