R. Jean Lynch, 71, of Leesburg, passed away at 5:35 a.m. Feb. 15, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born March 7, 1940, in Warsaw, to Jay and Frances Shaffer Shue. On Sept. 13, 1963, in Warsaw, she married Terry Lynch, who survives.

A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she formerly worked for her father at Shue’s Garden Center, Winona Lake, and was the Plain Township assessor for two and a half terms, beginning in 1995 to August 2006. She was a past volunteer for Multi-Township Emergency Medical Services, a member of the Kosciusko County Historical Society and a certified genealogy specialist and researcher.

Also surviving are her children: Angie (spouse Gary) Eherenman, Brownsburg; Chuck Lynch, Warsaw; Jenny Lynch, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Mike (spouse Sherry) Lynch, Fishers; two sisters, Reene Alley, Talmadge, Ohio, and Mary (and spouse Bob) Wagner, Warsaw; grandchildren, Alex, Ross and Mallory Eherenman, all of Brownsburg; Jessica Brosey, Virginia Beach; and Meghan, Hayden and Ethan Lynch, all of Fishers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Chaplain Doug West officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
