R. Christine "Chris" McArtor Pratt, 96, of Warsaw, passed away at 4:20 a.m. March 21, 2011, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Jan. 18, 1915, in Salem, Ohio, to Willis and Sarah J. Hutcheson McArtor. On June 7, 1932, in Momence, Ill., she married Ed Pratt, who died Dec. 19, 2000.

An area resident since 1942, she worked for Warsaw Community Schools as an adult education teacher for 29 years. She was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Winona Lake, where she was an ordained deaconess. Other social affiliations include: a former blood bank volunteer for the American Red Cross; a volunteer for the American Cancer Society; a member of the Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Winona Lake Literary Society; a former member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority; and was the recipient of the Republican Hall of Fame Award from the Kosciusko County Republican Party.

Surviving are a daughter, Nannette (and spouse Bill) Newland, Warsaw; two sons, Joel (and spouse Teresa) Pratt, Biltmore, N.C., and Steven (and spouse Bernice) Pratt, Denver, Colo.; three sisters: Harriet Jackson, Salem, Ohio; Lois Irons, Columbiana, Ohio; and Marjorie Herder, West Hill, Calif.; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Rob Harrison of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
