Mix fun, competition, questions and networking together with a fundraiser for the Warsaw Education Foundation Inc. and the result is the 2006 Community Quiz Bowl.
This year, the friendly competition is scheduled for March 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Career Center Gym at Warsaw Community High School.
Quiz Bowl Chair Brad Brail said this is the sixth year for the community event. Teams generally are put together by local business leaders. The light-hearted competition raises funds for the WEF. The Foundation then uses that money to support the EdCom Expo, Red Apple grants and for recognizing academic excellence in Warsaw Schools.
Generally, the Quiz Bowl includes four different categories with a total of 60 questions. Each team works together to answer the questions. One category this year will be 2005 in review, there will be an academic category, a local trivia category, and the fourth is the surprise category, Brail said.
The Quiz Bowl usually has 35 teams representing 30 or more local organizations and businesses. The competition is limited to the first 35 teams that sign up.
Entry fee is $200 per team.
The public is welcome to come and watch the fun and admission is free.
Last year's winning team was Source One Insurance. A team of local teachers, sponsored by Reinholt's, won two years ago.
Again this year, at half-time, Lake City Bank is sponsoring the 30-minute break for people to enjoy refreshments and network.
