I have a question that has been really weighing on my mind lately that I had to ask.
I hear a lot of people who are all for gay rights saying that we shouldn't object to gays because they were created that way and it is not fair to judge them or "push" certain moralities on them. I heard one guy on the radio even say that no one would actually choose to be gay because it comes with such harsh stereotypes and repercussions. So my question is, using that logic, how can we "push" morality on anything that is different? Do you think that a pedophile chooses to have that illness? I wouldn't think that they choose to be perverse like that, they just are. I understand that is a bit extreme because it hurts unwilling children, but what about someone like a necrophiliac? They aren't hurting anyone, and I am guessing that there wasn't some point in their life when they were sitting in a bar and said, you know what, these women are all right, but I would really like to head down to the morgue. It is just something that they are born with. Am I judging them by saying it is wrong to molest a child, or have sex with a dead person?
I was told that necrophilia is different because it hurts the families of the deceased. So, by that logic, does that mean it is only wrong if you get caught? If someone is doing that, and no one ever finds out, does that mean it is a perfectly fine thing for them to be doing? What about someone with a "fondness" of animals? They hurt no one and it goes unnoticed. Is it right then? They probably didn't pick that interest at some point in their life. Am I being a judge by saying that is not right, or am I simply pointing out something that isn't right?
Is it that if I "judge" a pedophile by telling them that they are living in sin that I am a pedophilophobic and am simply afraid that I am secretly one, or is it because it is wrong and I know it is wrong? If I tell a murderer that it is wrong to kill, I am not being their judge or a murdereraphobic, but simply informing them. Yet if I tell a homosexual that it is a sin to be gay, then I am a homophobic.
