Editor, Times-Union:
Someone wrote that Russia, China, North Korea, and European nations have atomic bombs and we don't attack them. Yet we attacked Iran and it doesn't have nuclear weapons. As Homer Simpson would say, "Well, Duh. You don't attack a nation that has nuclear weapons or they'll use theirs against us."
When I was a kid, some people wondered why we didn't drop a hydrogen bomb on North Vietnam to end the war. But since they were allied with the Soviet Union, it could have prompted WW III. We attacked Iran to prevent them from producing a nuclear weapon just like we attacked Germany in WW II to prevent Hitler from developing an atomic bomb. At the time we didn't realize Japan was also developing an atomic bomb, which they tested in Korea after we dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Theirs also worked, but it was too late for them to send one in a submarine to either Los Angeles or San Francisco to kill millions of Americans.
What I find is a puzzlement is why people would vote for Democrats with their track record of failure. Democrats convinced Herbert Hoover to increase taxes, which made the bad recession of 1929 into the Great Depression. When FDR could have invested half of what we paid into Social Security into the private economy to make it stronger and generate more retirement income, he had it all go into government securities and now it might be running a deficit by 2036 instead of a multi-trillion dollar surplus.
North Korea has nuclear weapons and President Clinton claimed they would never develop them. Iran's nuclear weapons program was funded in part by Presidents Obama and Biden. The person who gave a reason for WW III to be waged voted for all three presidents that allowed our enemies to become more dangerous.
So many Democrats want the government to control our lives which is fascism. Maybe they should be called Demonazis. Having Medicare for all would make the government a medical monopoly like that in Canada which would lead to managed care and death boards. More people would die yet too many voters want the government deciding who lives or dies just like in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.
Calling boys that want to be considered girls is a puzzlement. Supporting socialism which is a disastrous economic system that brings shortages and misery is a puzzlement. Voting for politicians that hate the Jews and Israel which will bring the wrath of God against America is a puzzlement.
Hating Trump is no reason to vote the Democrats back into power which could bring disaster. Why Democrats would sacrifice a brighter future for chaos is a puzzlement.
