Pursuit Ends In YardWhen police tried to pull a female driver over for driving left of center Sunday afternoon, she refused to stop. The driver – whose name and further information were unavailable as of press time – ended up driving off CR 250E and onto Stonehenge Golf Course. Her vehicle got caught and a Winona Lake police officer got out of his squad car and approached her vehicle. She tried to ram the officer, but he avoided being hit and got back in his squad car and continued pursuing her, according to Winona Lake Town Marshal Joe Hawn. The female driver got back on the road, then hit a fence and got stuck in a yard. A Warsaw Police Department officer pulled his vehicle in front of hers and the pursuit came to an end after just three or four minutes, Hawn said. The female driver had a passenger, and drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle. Along with the Winona Lake and Warsaw police departments, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Pierceton Police Departments were involved.
