Purdue Extension To Hold ‘A Matter Of Balance’ Seminar

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities.
“A Matter Of Balance” is an evidence-based fall prevention program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls, according to a news release from Purdue Extension.
Participants will learn how to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, exercises to increase strength and balance. Who should attend: anyone concerned about falls; anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength; anyone who has fallen in the past; anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns?

This program is limited to 12 participants. “A Matter of Balance” will be held at the North Webster Community Library, 110 E. North St., North Webster. There is a $25 registration fee to participate in this program.
Two sessions will be held every Monday beginning Oct. 7 until Nov. 25. Classes will be two hours in length and will begin at 10:30 a.m. EST and 1 p.m. EST. When registering, indicate if you are registering for the morning or afternoon session. Registration ends Sept. 30.
