The fund was established through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation to provide financial assistance to deserving students from Kosciusko County who are beginning their third or fourth year at Purdue University.

The Purdue Club announced recently that Laura Bowerman and Amanda Busz are this year's recipients of the award.

Bowerman is being awarded a $1,000 scholarship. She is a junior at Purdue University, West Lafayette, studying mathematics education, to graduate December 2008. Bowerman is a Milford resident, and 2005 graduate of Wawasee High School. After graduating from Purdue, she plans to work as a high school mathematics teacher.

Busz also is being awarded a $1,000 scholarship. She will be a junior at Purdue University, West Lafayette, majoring in accounting, to graduate from the five-year plan of study in May 2010.

Busz is a Pierceton resident, and 2005 graduate of Whitko High School. After graduating from Purdue, she plans to become a certified public accountant.
