Prostitution charge sought

Charges are pending against a Warsaw woman who allegedly offered an undercover police officer sexual favors in exchange for money at a local business.

The matter has been forwarded to the prosecutor for review; police are seeking that the woman be charged with prostitution, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to a press release from the Kosciusko County Special Operations Team, an investigation was initiated at The Cat's Den in Warsaw after several tips were received that illegal sexual activities were taking place there.

An undercover police officer entered the business on Friday and was allegedly offered sexual favors in exchange for money by a 20-year-old woman inside the business. She and a 17-year-old female were the only two employees on duty at the time of the alleged incident, police said.

Police are also working with the prosecutor's office to determine whether charges will be filed against other employees and/or the owners of the business.

Police said that all such tips regarding this type of behavior will be aggressively followed up by officers.
