Editor, Times-Union: The left has a perverse way of giving nice names to lies. Do you really believe the people of China control the People’s Republic of China and not the government? And why is the Affordable Care Act so unaffordable for millions? Liberals like to call themselves Progressives. So why do they oppose progress in so many areas? Which is more progressive: creating over a million jobs in a month like what happened when Reagan was president, or being lucky to create less than half that many jobs in a month like what is happening with Obama? Is it progressive to encourage medical device companies to develop devices that could save millions of lives, or punish those companies with higher taxes and regulations like what the so-called Affordable Care Act does? We need affordable energy prices to help the economy grow. So why are so many actions being done by the Obama administration oppose affordable energy? Using microwave plasma burners in coal-fired power plants could make it much cleaner. Yet Obama is trying to shut down the use of coal. I don’t recall hearing liberals say we need more nuclear energy, which for decades has been a symbol of progress. The benefits of working out in space could eventually pay off our national debt and create millions of jobs. So why did President Clinton and Obama drastically reduce spending for NASA? Gold mines have been closed that could have supplied banks and investors with billions of dollars in tannable assets. Regulations have hurt our economy. With the problems Obama has caused, who do both Sanders and Clinton want to continue his ruinous policies? Was it progress when Iraq became a democracy thanks to President Bush, or is what Obama did by pulling our troops out of Iraq so ISIS could come to power progress? Is the continuation of exterminating lives in the womb progress, or is representing lives in the womb and acting moral progress? And if black lives really mattered, why aren’t there more black protestors around abortion clinics where black lives are just statistics? This nation and much of the world seems to be on the verge of destruction thanks to those that call themselves Progressives. I could call myself a billionaire, but without the money to prove it, I would be a liar. So why can’t we call Progressives liars if they oppose progress? Unfortunately, one of them might be the president next year. They’ll head the baloney factory I call Washington, D.C. Rick Badman Warsaw
