Proceeds From Cookbook Support Breast Cancer

Posted

Volunteers and organizers for The Catherine Peachey Fund met for a book launch party Tuesday at Cerulean in Winona Lake. “Just Peachey: Bearing Fruit” is a cookbook offering over 500 recipes including contributions from local restaurants Late Harvest, Blue Moon and Cerulean. The book also features recipes from by celebrity chef Mario Batali and former Indiana first lady Cheri Daniels. The cookbook can be purchased for $24.99 and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to The Catherine Peachey Fund benefiting breast cancer research and programs in Indiana. The cookbook also features “pink pages” that include information to help men and women understand breast health. The pink pages also include excerpts from “The Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Book.” Catherine Peachey, the fund’s namesake, was one of the founders of the Indiana Breast Cancer Coalition and one of the leaders in lobbying for passage of the Off-Label Drug Bill, which guarantees access to non-FDA approved anti-cancer drugs for cancer patients, a law passed in Indiana. Pictured is Connie Rufenbarger, Catherine Peachey Fund volunteer and organizer, speaking to guests about the fund’s mission and the details of the cookbook. The book can be purchased on amazon.com or peacheyfund.org For more information, call Stephanie Rufenbarger Lesher at 317-466-1977.
