The City-County Athletic Complex is looking to wrestle up some money for a new marquee.
To help pay for a new $30,000 marquee, the CCAC is running a number of fundraisers, one of which is a wrestling event at Lakeview Middle School Saturday night."Bruiser's Wrestling" will include well-known wrestlers Dick The Bruiser Jr., The Honky Tonk Man and 19 others.
CCAC fundraising organizer Carl Sowers first got in touch with Bruiser, who then had him choose from a list of wrestlers he would like see attend the event.
"I just picked the guys I would know and others would too," Sowers said.
This is the first time Sowers has attempted anything like this, so even he's a little unsure of what to expect.
"I've talked with Mr. Bruiser about this being made for family entertainment," he said. "He said that's exactly what he would do for me."
Presale of tickets may be picked up at the CCAC, Reinholt's Town Square Furniture and Toyota of Warsaw for $20 ringside and $10 general admission. At the gate, ringside seats will be $25 and general admission will be $12.
"The tickets aren't too expensive," Sowers said. "You can't even go to a movie for $10."
The three-hour event will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. for general admission. VIP passes may begin entering at 5 p.m., with a meet and greet taking place.
"We expect the sales should pick up Thursday, Friday and Saturday," Sowers said. "By then, they should be going like gangbusters."
Fans may also meet Dick The Bruiser Jr. between noon and 1 p.m. at Reinholt's Town Square Furniture and The Honky Tonk Man will be at Toyota of Warsaw from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.
A sample of the marquee the CCAC would like to purchase may be viewed at Willam's Supply Co., 826 E. Winona Ave, Warsaw.
